Throughout history civilizations rise and fall. Today, in the developed world, we live lifestyles of abundance in comparison to past generations. Yet all our progress comes at a price as now we are facing the threat of ecological collapse and the resulting economic and social declines that inevitably follow. In this course we will discuss the story of humanity, specifically our civilization in the 21st Century as we pass the point of no return. 


OBJECTIVES

➜ Discuss the roles of positive and negative narratives in the context of the 21st Century. 

➜ Understand how civilisations collapse and discuss the existential threats facing our civilisation.

➜ Consider the way humans look at time and how it influences our behaviour.
