- what makes him tick: (expression) - What motivates him? What does he think? This expression originates from what makes a clock tick (meaning what makes a clock work). [Portuguese: o que o motiva]
- taboo: (noun) - a social or religious custom prohibiting or forbidding discussion of a particular practice or forbidding association with a particular person, place, or thing. [Portuguese: tabu]
